Hi Jed,

The Center for American Progress just released fact sheets for each state, plus Washington, D.C., and a national fact sheet detailing the harms of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).

The OBBBA will increase the costs of basic necessities such as health care, utilities, and groceries and will drive up costs for everyday Americans borrowing money to buy a car or to get a mortgage for a home. This legislation is a direct threat to families’ personal finances and the strength of the U.S. economy. Our new, state-specific fact sheets provide insights into how the OBBBA and the administration’s policies will increase the costs of health care, food, energy, and borrowing in each state in the near future.

We hope that these fact sheets will be helpful for advocates as we continue to hold the Trump administration and congressional Republicans accountable for the legislation that will increase costs for everyday Americans to fund tax breaks for the ultrawealthy.

ACT NOW: Stop President Trump’s power grab

By stripping away health care and food assistance to fund tax cuts for the ultrawealthy, the Trump administration’s radical OBBBA is another way the Trump administration is taking away power and resources from everyday Americans. Tell your representatives to fight back.

ACT NOW

Congressional Republicans’ OBBBA is devastating for millions of Americans

CAP’s Senior Director of Federal Budget Policy Bobby Kogan explains:

A two-panel image with a screenshot of a tweet on top and a photo of Donald Trump at the bottom. The top panel shows a tweet from "Bobby Kogan @BBKogan" that reads: "Final CBO score of the 'big beautiful bill' is out. Biggest Medicaid cuts ever - in fact, 4 times the size of the previous biggest; $894-$990 bn. Kicks 10 million off health insurance. Biggest SNAP cuts ever, $187 bn. Still increases deficit by $3.4 trillion from huge tax cuts." The bottom panel shows a photo of Donald Trump, seated at a desk and holding up a document. The background appears to be a formal setting with other people standing around the desk.
