The policies of the second Trump administration pose an existential threat to American democracy. In an unprecedented power grab, the administration is tearing down constitutional and legal guardrails to build an authoritarian presidency that ignores the system of checks and balances. Though many Americans take them for granted, fundamental rights, including the right to political dissent; free and fair elections; and a government that operates in the public interest are at risk of disappearing. But everyday Americans, civil society, and other institutions have the power to stand up for the rule of law and reverse democratic backsliding.

Doug Jones (D) featuring two renowned experts who will discuss the significance of what is happening to American democracy and how we can prevent authoritarianism from taking root.
